WATERING TIPS FOR NEW PLANTINGS
FIRST MONTH WATERING (For the first two weeks):
• Ground covers should be watered every day to every other day
• Perennial plantings should be watered every other day to every three to four days
• Shrubs should be watered twice a week to every five to six days
• Water trees once every five to seven days
AFTER THE FIRST MONTH (Decrease the amount of watering):
• Ground cover should be every other day to every three to four days
• Perennial plantings should be cut to twice a week to every five to six days
• Shrubs should be watered every five to seven days
• Trees should be watered every 10-14 days
The above are general tips for watering. When it’s warmer outside you may want to water more often, or when it’s cooler or rainy, water a little less. Remember: plants like to be watered well and then dry before watering again.
